Heavy Rains Delay Start of Genesis Open

Torrential rains have delayed play after just an hour at this year's Genesis Open. With reports of an El Nino forming in the Pacific, rain has poured into southern California this morning and is forecast to continue for several more hours. A weather report provided via The Golf Channel indicates that there may be a chance to resume play this afternoon but high winds are expected to follow the rain.

With over an inch of rain already soaking the course since midnight, there remains some doubt if play will resume today at all. We'll have to just wait and see what happens. Stay tuned.

The committee at the Genesis Open has elected to wipe away the scores of all players who started the round this morning and will restart the tournament when weather allows. They feel that conditions were unfairly poor for the ten groups who had begun play.
